Keeping a mini fridge in your bedroom is perfect handy access to cool drinks and snacks. The problem is, some mini fridges are noisier than others. I’ve created this guide to help you choose a nice and quiet mini fridge for your bedroom.
For most people, the BLACK+DECKER BCRK17W is a great choice. It isn’t completely silent, but it is fairly quiet and won’t break the bank. If you have a little more to spend, the Smad Mini Fridge is incredibly quiet. If you only need something small to keep a few cans cool, check out the Cooluli Mini Fridge, and if you could do with having a freezer too, check out the Costway Compact Refrigerator.

Best Quiet Mini Fridges for Bedrooms
When you’re deciding on a mini fridge for your bedroom, one of the most important things to consider is the noise. The last thing you want is your new fridge to constantly be waking you up! I’ve scoured the reviews of the top rated mini fridges, and picked out four that are perfect for keeping in your bedroom.
If you want the absolute quietest mini fridge, you will want to go with an absorption fridge. Unfortunately, these aren’t quite as common as the slightly noisier compressor fridges. We do have one absorption fridge on our list (the Smad Mini Fridge), but keep in mind the others won’t be completely silent.
1. BLACK+DECKER BCRK17W
For most people, the BLACK+DECKER BCRK17W is an excellent, quiet mini fridge perfect for a bedroom, as long as you don’t need a large freezer too.
It is available with a capacity of 1.7 cu. ft.
Although this is a compressor fridge (which are usually louder than absorption fridges), many users were very happy with how quiet it is. It isn’t silent but it is very quiet. The reason we chose this fridge for our best overall pick instead of an absorption fridge is because of the price. But if you want a silent fridge, check out the Smad Mini Fridge.
The BLACK+DECKER BCRK17W includes a reversible door which means you can configure it to open from either the left or the right. This makes it easier to find a suitable spot to put it, whilst still having easy access.
There are shelves in the door to store drinks and the shelf in the main fridge area can be removed to make room for taller items.
Although it is advertised as a fridge or freezer, the freezer is tiny so only suitable for storing one or two small items.
But if you want a nice fridge that’s fairly quiet, perfect for your bedroom and at a great price, this is definitely one to consider as long as you don’t require a good sized freezer.
2. Smad Mini Fridge
If you’re looking for the quietest fridge for your bedroom, check out the Smad Mini Fridge. Unlike the Midea, which uses a compressor, this fridge uses absorption technology which makes it incredibly quiet.
The Midea will be fine for most people, but it does makes some noise. So if you’re very sensitive to noise or it will be used in a silent environment, this is the one for you.
There are three capacities available: 1.0, 1.4, and 1.7 cu. ft.
The shelves are adjustable so you can organise it how you want and you can make room for taller items.
It has a reversible door hinge so you can configure it to open either from the left or the right. This opens up the options for where you can place it whilst keeping the door accessible.
This fridge works with both 110v and 12v power. You can plug it straight into a cigarette lighter port which makes it a good choice for an RV (especially since it is really quiet too). However, when you use 12v power (like with a cigarette lighter port), the power consumption is much higher.
This fridge has a built-in lock too which is great for keeping pesky hands off your goodies.
The biggest downside with this fridge is the price which is considerably higher than the Midea, and you’re getting a smaller fridge too. But if you want a mini fridge that is really quiet, this one is definitely worth checking out.
3. Cooluli Mini Fridge
If you don’t need a full on fridge, check out the Cooluli Drinks Cooler. This is a thermoelectric cooler than hold up to six 12 oz. cans. You can also use it to heat things up.
It comes with a 110v adaptor to use indoors, and a 12v adaptor to use in a car cigarette lighter port. It also includes a USB cable and you can power if with a 2A power bank for even more portability. (It does recommend you don’t power it with a computer.)
Because it is a thermoelectric cooler and not a compressor or absorption fridge, it won’t be able to cool down to fridge temperatures, but it’s good enough to keep your drinks nice and cool.
It isn’t completely silent, but most users have found it not to be too loud when kept it in a bedroom.
Overall, a great drinks cooler for your bedroom at a very budget-friendly price, and great for keeping drinks cool when you’re on the go as well.
4. Costway Compact
The final fridge on our list of quiet mini fridges that are great for bedrooms is the Costway Compact Refrigerator. This is the ideal choice if you want a good quality freezer as well as a larger fridge.
At 3.2 cu. ft., this is the largest fridge in this list, and 1.0 cu. ft. of it is dedicated to the freezer compartment that comes with its own door. The freezer is big enough to fit a few tubs of ice cream and multiple large pizzas, so it’s very roomy considering it’s only a mini fridge.
A lot of thought has clearly been put into the arrangement of this fridge. There is a bin at the bottom which is ideal for storing any fruit or veg, and the inside of the door has compartments for storing drinks and things like that. The main area of the fridge has a removable and adjustable glass shelf so you can configure the layout to store taller items. Overall, the layout is really efficient and allows you to store lots of things in a relatively small space.
Although most users have found that the noise of this fridge isn’t too problematic, it isn’t silent like the Smad Mini Fridge. So if you’re particularly sensitive to noise or need a fridge that is really quiet, you might want to skip this one. But most reviewers who keep this fridge in a bedroom don’t find the noise problematic.
Another issue a few users have had is with the condensation from the freezer. A few users have found that condensation build up from the fridge will drip onto the top shelf. It would be a good idea to wipe it down regularly, or think carefully about which items you want to store on that shelf.
Finally, a small thing worth noting is that the doors are not reversible on this fridge.
